Vol. 144 No. 7

Written Answers. - Secretary of Dublin District Milk Board.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether the secretary of Dublin District Milk Board has resigned; and, if so, for what reason; and if he will further state who will appoint his successor and whether the appointed person will be a permanent or temporary civil servant, and if he will indicate what qualifications and age limits apply to these posts in Dublin and Cork.

Mr. Walsh

The former secretary of the Dublin District Milk Board was a permanent civil servant seconded from my Department. His secondment has recently been terminated, and he has returned for duty to the Department. It is not intended to second any other officer of my Department to fill the vacancy, and the selection of a new secretary is, therefore, a matter for the board, who may prescribe such qualifications and age limits for the post as they may think fit. The Cork District Milk Board have similar functions to those of the Dublin District Milk Board in regard to the appointment of a secretary.
