Vol. 144 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imports of Motor Cars and Parts.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state (a) the number of motor touring cars, (b) the total value of such cars, (c) the number of tractors, (d) the total value of such tractors, (e) the number of pneumatic tyres for agricultural motor tractors, motor cars and other motor tractors, (f) the number of solid tyres for motor tractors, (g) the number of tubes for motor tractors, (h) the value of such tyres and tubes, and (i) the value of all motor parts imported for each of the years 1952 and 1953.

Statistics of imports are brought to account in accordance with the official import list, which does not in all cases specify precisely the items which the Deputy has requested. I intend, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement of imports for the years in question judged relevant to the Deputy's question.

Following is the statement:—
