Vol. 145 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electricity Supply—County Cork.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when it is hoped to extend the rural electrification scheme to the Rossmore area of West Cork.

Mr. Lynch

I am informed by the E.S.B. that the Rossmore area which has been considered on a number of occasions for development under the rural electrification scheme has not so far been successful, due principally to the small percentage of householders who have agreed to take supply. The board is unable to state when development of the area is likely to take place but suggests that a considerable improvement in the percentage of acceptances would be likely to advance the prospects of the Rossmore area for selection.
