Vol. 145 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electricity Supply—County Tipperary.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when it is proposed to extend the rural electrification scheme to the Leugh and Ballycahill areas, Thurles, County Tipperary.

Mr. Lynch

I am informed by the E.S.B. that the Ballycahill area, which includes Leugh and which has not so far qualified for selection under the rural electrification scheme, will again be considered at an early date. The board is, however, unable to state when development of the area is likely to take place.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when it is proposed to extend the rural electrification scheme to the Holycross and Moycarkey areas, County Tipperary.

Mr. Lynch

I am informed by the E.S.B. that the Holycross area, which includes part of the parish of Moycarkey, has recently been selected for development under the rural electrification scheme and that the board expects to commence the erection of the necessary network in the area in the early summer of this year.
