Vol. 145 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Completion of Road in West Cork.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will give a grant to complete the road in the townland of Knockroe, Ballydehob, leading from one main road to another; and if he will ensure that the previous grant is not wasted by the non-completion of this road.

The Deputy does not give any particulars of the terminal points of the road to which he refers and it is not possible therefore to say with certainty what proposal he has in mind. The townland of Knockroe is in the electoral division of Kilcoe adjacent to Ballydehob, and I assume that the road in question is one in the townlands of Skeaghanore West and Knockroe, which may be described as "from the county road west of James McGrath's cottage, leading north-west and ending at the county road near William Sweeney's house." A number of grants were made some years ago for this proposal and when the last grant was expended in 1949 we were advised that the work had been satisfactorily completed. No further representations in the matter have since been received.
