Vol. 145 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mount Merrion Petrol Station.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received an appeal against a prohibition order made by the Dublin County Council on the erection of a petrol filling station at Mount Merion; if he is aware of the opposition to the proposed station and if he will state if he has reached a decision in the matter.

The planning authority on the 23rd February, 1954, made orders under the Town and Regional Planning Acts probihiting the further proceeding with this work and declaring any contravention of the prohibition to be unlawful. On the 20th instant an appeal against the declaration was received and on the 22nd instant the planning authority was asked to submit copies of the documents in connection with which the appeal was made. I am aware of the opposition to the work in the area.

Could the Minister say when a decision will be reached on the appeal?

As early as possible.
