Vol. 145 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Prices for Bacon Pigs.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware that current prices for bacon pigs will show no profit to the producer unless the price of feeding stuffs is reduced; and, if so, whether he has any statement to make on this matter.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative.

On and from the 26th April next, the price of maize sold by Grain Importers (Éire) Limited, will be reduced by £2 a ton to £27 a ton, carriage paid to purchaser's nearest railway station. The present proportions of 50 per cent. maize and 50 per cent. barley will be maintained.
