Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Old Age Pension Recipients.

Mr. O'Higgins

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state in respect of (a) Laois and (b) Offaly the number of persons in receipt of old age pensions.

At 25th December, 1953, the latest date for which the figures are available, the numbers of pensions in payment under the Old Age Pensions Acts in the counties referred to were:— Laois, 2,821 (including 87 to blind persons) and Offaly, 2,851 (including 77 to blind persons).
