Vol. 145 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Accommodation for ex-Army Personnel.

asked the Minister for Local Government if the Kildare County Council are now in a position to provide housing accommodation for ex-Army personnel who are at present occupying houses at the Curragh Camp.

The Kildare County Council have power to provide houses for ex-Army personnel at present occupying houses at the Curragh Camp. Houses provided by the council are, however, required to be allocated in accordance with a scale of preferences prescribed by the Housing (Management and Letting) Regulations, 1950 and 1953, and the question of allotting such houses to the persons referred to would have to be considered by the council in the light of this obligation.
