Vol. 145 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Advertising Meat Products.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether, in view of the high reputation gained for Irish meat products in Britain in pre-war years and the derationing of meat in England, he will start an advertising campaign to increase the demand for our products there.

Mr. Walsh

My Department and the trade branch of the Irish Embassy in London will give every possible assistance in this matter to the exporters, who must of course themselves be expected to take the usual commercial steps to promote the sale of their meat products. The Department has already arranged for displays of Irish meat and meat products at two important food exhibitions in Britain in May and September next.
