Vol. 145 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Stamping of Receipts.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that persons in receipt of infectious diseases allowances from local authorities, such as Cork Corporation, are required to affix a stamp to receipts for same although persons giving receipts for money in respect of salary, wages, pension or superannuation or compassionate allowances are not required to affix a stamp to receipts, and if he is prepared by the introduction of proposals for legislation to amend Section 13 of the Finance Act, 1953, or otherwise to arrange that persons in receipt of tuberculosis and other allowances will not be required to stamp receipts for their allowances.

The question of legislating on this and other cognate matters is under examination.
