Vol. 145 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Limerick Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state in regard to land acquired for afforestation purposes in West Limerick (1) the name of the townland in which land has been acquired; (2) the area of land acquired for such purposes in each townland, and (3) when it is proposed to start afforestation in each townland.

The information regarding the land held for forestry purposes in West Limerick is in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to have circulated with the Official Report.

Forestry work has already been undertaken in all the townlands named in the statement with the exception of Ballynacragga, Leahys, Ballynacragga North, Ballynash, Loghill and Mount-orchard. The land in these latter townlands totalling some 161 acres was recently acquired and is attached to Adare forest. Operations will be commenced on the area in the current season.
