Vol. 145 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Castleconnell National School.

Mr. Crowley

asked the Minister for Education whether it is proposed to erect a new national school at Castle-connell, County Limerick; and, if so, whether a site has been acquired and plans for the school have been made; and, further, what stage preparations for its erection have reached and when it is anticipated that work on the erection of the new school will be begun.

It is proposed to erect new schools to replace the existing Castleconnell boys' and girls' schools. A suitable site for the new schools has been offered by the manager. The Department is in communication with the manager in regard to certain preliminary arrangements which will require to be made before a grant from State funds can be sanctioned towards the cost of the erection of the new schools. I am not at present in a position to say when it is likely that work on the erection of the new schools will be begun.
