Vol. 145 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Replacement of Roadway.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will make funds available from the National Development Fund for the provision of a short roadway at Dooneen, Old Head, Kinsale, County Cork, to replace one that has been washed away by the sea and to provide a safe passage for 24 children who have to climb along the rough, rocky seashore to get to their school.

No proposal regarding the work has been received from the Cork County Council. I may add that the general question of the grants to be made from the National Development Fund for road works for the year 1954-55 is under consideration, and it is not possible at this stage to say whether the work mentioned by the Deputy, if submitted by the county council, would qualify.
