Vol. 147 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Civil Service Arbitration Award.

asked the Minister for Finance whether, with reference to his statement in the Dáil on 15th June, 1954 (Official Report, Volume 146, No. 2, column 97), he is now in a position to state when payment of the portion of the arbitration award for civil servants, teachers, members of the Army and Garda Síochána, which was not implemented by the previous Government, will be made.

I am not yet in a position to say when payment will be made.

Will the Minister be in the position to announce the good news some time before Christmas?

As soon as I am in a position to make a statement, I will do so.

I hope the Minister for Lands does not throw his weight about.

If it is a matter of weight, I hope not.
