Vol. 147 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Social Welfare Act, 1952.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether he is aware that a regulation made in January, 1953, under the Social Welfare Act, 1952, prevents a widow in receipt of a contributory pension from drawing full unemployment benefit for herself and her dependents if she has qualified for such benefit, and if he will state whether he proposes to alter this regulation.

The regulation in question is the Social Welfare (Overlapping Benefits) Regulations, 1953. This is one of the matters which I am at present having examined in the Department.
