Vol. 147 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Nurses' Income-tax.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will arrange to have male and female nurses assessed for income-tax on the basis of the actual cash received by them and not on the basis of their inclusive salary, as obtains at present.

I am not prepared to introduce proposals for the legislation which would be required to enable the Deputy's request to be complied with and which would have the effect of placing the persons concerned in a privileged class as regards income-tax liability.
