The net receipts of customs duty in respect of cinematograph films in the calendar years 1952 and 1953 were £74,207 and £71,596, respectively.
The approximate net receipts of entertainments duty from cinemas in the same years were £1,193,000 and £1,248,000, respectively.
Net expenditure abroad on film rentals is estimated at £668,000 in 1952 and £742,000 in 1953.
