Vol. 147 No. 6

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Ardee Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether the final plans for the proposed water scheme for the town of Ardee, County Louth, have been submitted to his Department for approval, and, if so, when a decision in the matter may be expected.

This scheme involves three separate contracts and detailed documents in respect of each have been submitted to my Department. Those relating to the filtration plant have been approved and a tender was accepted some time ago. The complete data required for a decision on the civil works have not yet been made available to the Department and agreement on the design of the scheme has not yet been reached. Consequently it may be necessary to revise the specification for the third item, the pumping plant.

A local conference with the council's technical advisers has been arranged to finalise the matter.
