Vol. 147 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Mayo School Meals.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he is aware that the quantity of bread and butter provided at school meals in the various schools in North Mayo has been considerably reduced, and, if so, if he will state the reason for such reduction; further, if, in view of the fact that the children concerned come from poor families in rural districts, he will issue immediate instructions to have the supplies of these foods restored to their former level, especially during the winter.

I am not aware of any reduction in the quantity of bread and butter in the school meals provided in the various schools in North Mayo. I am having inquiries made regarding the matter.
