Vol. 148 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Bog Roads.

Seán Mac Eochagáin

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what arrangements have been made for the construction of new roads into the virgin bogs of West Galway so as to enable the local people to cut supplies of turf for the new electricity generating station now being built at Screebe, Connemara.

No special arrangements for road construction in West Galway for the purposes mentioned in the question have been made by the Land Commission. Some Land Commission bogs in that locality are in course of development with a view to satisfying the domestic turbary requirements of the area. These development works include essential roads.
