Vol. 148 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Road.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware of the urgent need for the repair of the footbridge adjacent to the parish church at Filemore, County Kerry, and also for the construction of a road leading from the county council road to the church, and, if so, if he will allocate a grant for the implementation of this scheme.

I am advised that the work referred to by the Deputy cannot be undertaken during the winter period and it is not, therefore, suitable as an employment scheme. Arising out of representations made in June, 1952, regarding the necessity for the repair of the footbridge and the embanking and reconstruction of the footpath to give access to the parish church, the beneficiaries were invited to submit an application for the work under the rural improvements scheme. No application has since been received.
