Vol. 149 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bray Motoring Prosecutions.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state (a) the number of prosecutions against motorists in Bray District Court, (b) the number of convictions in such prosecutions during the last two years and (c) what percentage of these convictions were recorded against motorists resident in the Dublin area.

I am including under the heading "convictions" cases in which the charge was proved but which were dealt with by the court under the Probation of Offenders Act.

The figures for 1953 were (a) 578, (b) 558 and (c) 59.3 per cent. The figures for 1954 were (a) 374, (b) 365 and (c) 59.7 per cent.
