Vol. 149 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Mayo Military Pensions.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state (a) the names and addresses of all persons in County Mayo who are in receipt of service pensions pursuant to the provisions of the Military Service Pensions Acts, 1934, 1944, 1945 (Nos. 1 and 2), and 1953, respectively, (b) the rank of the recipient, and the reason for the pension in each case, and (c) the amount per annum payable in each case.

A list of all persons resident in County Mayo who are in receipt of pensions under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934, as amended, is being prepared and will be forwarded to the Deputy when available. As it would be contrary to established departmental practice to supply the addresses of these persons, I regret that such information cannot be supplied.

Is the Minister aware that the name of Deputy Lindsay or of any member of his family will never appear on that list? It is a roll of honour.

I believe there are quite a number of people in that category on both sides of the House.
