Vol. 149 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kiltimagh Medical Officer Appointment.

asked the Taoiseach what is the cause of the delay by the Local Appointments Commission in complying with the request of the Mayo County Council to fill the vacant post of medical officer for the Kiltimagh dispensary district.

I am informed by the Local Appointments Commissioners that interviews for the filling of this post were held in June, 1954. Difficulties, however, arose that made it necessary to obtain legal advice. It is hoped that the matter at issue will soon be decided, and the commissioners would thereupon be enabled to make their recommendation without further delay.
