Vol. 150 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Government (Superannuation) Act.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has considered the terms of a draft Bill in regard to the amendment of the Local Government (superannuation) Act, 1948, which was submitted to him by the Local Authorities' Retired Officers' and Servants' Association; whether he has come to a decision in the matter, and, if so, the nature of the decision.

The representations made by the Local Authorities' Retired Officers' and Servants' Association for increases in pensions are being examined in conjunction with similar representations in regard to State pensioners but a decision in the matter has not yet been taken.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he proposes to introduce legislation to amend the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1948.

I hope to be in a position to introduce amending legislation at an early date.
