asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the numbers, total acreage and total valuation of holdings in each of the congested districts counties in respect of which notices had been issued or resumption proceedings instituted at the 1st April, 1953, 1954, and 1955, and also the numbers, total acreage and total valuation of the holdings resumed in each such county during each of the years 1953-4 and 1954-5 or nearest available periods.

As the reply to this question is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have it circulated with the Official Report.
As regards the valuation of the lands —which I take to mean the rateable valuation—I am informed that this information is not readily available in summarised form so that it would take a considerable time to prepare the figures requested by the Deputy.
