Vol. 153 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tea Imports.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state, in respect of each of the years 1950 to 1955, the total amount and cost of tea imports, and if he will give separate figures in regard to each variety of tea.

Imports are brought to account according to the headings of the official import list which, in the case of tea, does not separately distinguish different varieties. The only available details, therefore, relate to the classification of such imports by country of origin, and I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving an analysis of tea imports by country of origin in each of the years 1950 to 1954 and for the period January-September, 1955.

Following is the statement:—
