asked the Minister for Health if he will state (a) the number of agricultural workers employed by each mental hospital authority as at 1st November, 1955, and (b) the basic wage paid to such workers as at 1st January, 1955, and 1st November, 1955.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mental Hospitals: Agricultural Workers.
As the information regarding the numbers of agricultural workers employed is in tabular form I am arranging, with your permission a Cheann Comhairle, to have it circulated with the Report.
The wages paid to such workers are ordinarily based on the rate fixed from time to time in the appropriate Agricultural Wages (Minimum Rates) Order. In addition differentials of varying amounts are usually paid by the mental hospital authorities.
Following is the statement:—
NUMBERS of Agricultural Workers employed by mental hospital authorities on 31/12/1954—the latest date for which figures are available.
