Vol. 153 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Differential Rents.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he received proposals from the Dublin Corporation in connection with the resolution, adopted by that body, that differential rents should not be increased when the tenants get an increase in wages or salary on account of the increased cost of living; and, if so, what action he proposes to take in the matter.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received proposals from the Dublin City Manager seeking sanction for the exclusion of overtime payments, bonuses and general increases in wages in the assessment of the means or income of those tenants of the Dublin Corporation who pay differential rents; and if, in order to alleviate the hardships caused to the tenants in question, he will issue sanction at an early date.

I propose with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 53 and 54 together.

Proposals to implement the resolution referred to have not been received by me.
