Vol. 155 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Transport of Galway Schoolchildren.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the grave hardship suffered by the children of the Derryrush area, County Galway, because of the long distances they have to travel to school, and, if so, if he will make arrangements forthwith for the provision of transport facilities to Loughconneera National School for these children.

An application was recently made to my Department for a grant towards the cost of a transport service for the conveyance of children residing in the Derryrush and Inver districts to Loughconneera National School.

The matter is being investigated and when a decision has been reached in regard to the application, I will advise the Deputy of the result.
