Vol. 156 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin City Road.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he received a memorandum from the Shandon Householders' Protection Association in November, 1955, concerning the Shandon Crescent roadway, which, it is stated, has been condemned by the Dublin Corporation; whether he has received any proposals on the matter from the corporation, and, if so, what is the present position.

No communication from the body mentioned by the Deputy has been received in my Department but I understand that they have been in communication with the Dublin Corporation. I also understand that this roadway is not a public road. The question of taking over roads for maintenance as public roads is a matter for each road authority concerned and is not one in relation to which local authorities are required to submit proposals to the Department.
