Vol. 156 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Publication of Davis Lectures.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will have the recently broadcast Thomas Davis Lectures published in pamphlet form.

There have been several series of Thomas Davis Lectures since 1953. One series has already been published by co-operation between Radio Éireann and the Cultural Relations Committee of the Department of External Affairs. Another series is being published by a similar arrangement and is, at present, in the hands of the printers. The current series which I assume the Deputy refers to, "The Shaping of Modern Ireland" would have a wide, general appeal and it is hoped to find a publisher to issue the lectures in book form. It would be much larger than a pamphlet.

The Deputy may have observed that some of the current lectures are being published in the newspapers.
