Vol. 158 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cahirciveen Pier.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware of the necessity for extending Cahirciveen pier and erecting lights along the harbour, and if he is prepared to allocate a grant for the purpose.

Proposals for improvement of the harbour at Cahirciveen, including the provision of beacons in the approach thereto, have been the subject of an engineering survey by the Office of Public Works which, I understand, was completed only last week. Until the report on such survey has been received and considered in my Department, it will not be possible to say precisely what improvements could best be carried out and whether a grant towards the cost thereof would be warranted.
