Vol. 158 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donegal Drainage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Finance when it is hoped that work will begin on the arterial drainage scheme on the rivers Deale, Swillyburn and Foyle.

I hope to have the Deale and Swillyburn scheme exhibited within about a month from now. Work cannot start, however, until the further statutory requirements of the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, have been complied with.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary tell us what particular type of month this is? Every two or three months a question like this is asked and, on each occasion, Deputies have been told that within "a month" something will happen. That has been going on now for at least six months. Will the Parliamentary Secretary give a date now on which the documents will be exhibited in Lifford?

It is a parliamentary month.

It happens to be a month with four weeks in it this time.
