Vol. 159 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Traffic Legislation.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is now in a position to state when it is proposed to introduce a new Road Traffic Bill, or to amend the existing road traffic bylaws.

Proposals for legislation to amend the Road Traffic Act, 1933, are being prepared and I hope that a Bill will be ready for introduction in the autumn.

The amendment of the general bylaws for the control of traffic is a matter for the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána in the first instance.
