Vol. 159 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Differential Rents.

asked the Minister for Local Government if, in view of the hardships caused to tenants of the Dublin Corporation and the Dublin County Council as a result of the operation of the differential renting system, he will advise these authorities of the desirability of taking into account the cost of transport for workers and school children when computing differential rents.

It is within the discretion of a housing authority to propose amendment of an approved scheme of differential renting. Any amendment proposed would be subject to my sanction. It would be inappropriate for me to interfere in the manner suggested by the Deputy.
