Vol. 159 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Water Supply Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware of the urgent need for the carrying through of the water supply schemes for Milltown and Dungegan, Ballin-skelligs, County Kerry; what is the present position in relation to proposals in the matter; and if he will arrange to have the commencement of work expedited.

A proposal by Kerry County Council for the acceptance of a tender for Milltown water supply scheme has been approved. It is now a matter for the council to enter into a contract for the construction of the scheme and to arrange for the commencement of the work.

Contract documents and the invitation of tenders for Dungegan-Ballin-skelligs water supply scheme have been approved, subject to arrangements being made for the acquisition of any necessary lands and water rights. The matter now rests with the county council.
