Vol. 159 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cleaning of Westport Harbour.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware of the urgent necessity for having the channel at Westport harbour cleaned, and if he will take steps to have dredging operations expedited.

It was hoped to commence these dredging operations in May last, but the dredger intended for the purpose had to be docked for repairs. I am advised by the Commissioners of Public Works that these repairs will be completed shortly and that the dredger will sail for Westport before the end of the present month.
