Questions— Oral Answers. - North Dublin Water Supply Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government what progress has been made in connection with the plans for (a) the North Dublin regional water supply scheme, and (b) the provision of a water scheme for Donabate, County Dublin.

Construction of the portion of the North Dublin regional water supply scheme to serve the high level area of Finglas, Blanchardstown and Castlenock, and an extension to Coolock, has been completed.

Work is proceeding on the laying of the pipeline to Malahide. Tenders have yet to be invited for the construction of a new reservoir at Malahide but the compulsory purchase Order for the site has been confirmed.

Detailed plans for Donabate water supply scheme have been approved and the submission of contract documents is awaited.
