Vol. 160 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - C.I.E. Superannuation Scheme.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the present position regarding the proposed amendment to the superannuation scheme for wage-grade employees of C.I.E.

As I informed the Deputy in reply to his question on 12th July last, the trade unions concerned with this superannuation scheme were furnished by C.I.E. with a copy of the actuaries' report on 31st May. I am now informed by C.I.E. that they have received replies from eight of the 29 unions concerned; five of the unions who have replied have submitted further proposals and the other three have requested a conference to discuss the matter. C.I.E. will arrange a meeting with the trade unions as soon as they have received replies from all the trade unions representing the larger groups of workers.
