Vol. 160 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pig Killings.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the number of pigs killed in bacon factories up to the latest available date in 1956, and in the corresponding period of 1954.

The number of pigs received at bacon factories during the 41 weeks ended 13th October, 1956, was 716,342. The corresponding total for the 41 weeks ended 16th October, 1954, was 998,787.

Will the Minister for Agriculture explain those figures when he is dealing with the Pigs and Bacon Bill later to-day?
