Vol. 160 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bovine T.B.

asked the Minister for Agriculture what steps it is proposed to take to expedite the eradication of bovine T.B.; what further areas are to be included in the scheme and the proposed dates of inclusion; and when it is anticipated that the entire country will be cleared.

I hope to be in a position to make an announcement in the matter during the coming week.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state, in respect of the year 1955-56 and the present financial year to date, the total expenditure under the bovine T.B. eradication scheme, and the amount attributable to (a) grants for the erection and improvement of byres, and (b) grants for the extension of water supplies.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—
