Vol. 160 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Baby Cars.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether an increase of 10 per cent. in the price of prams, pramettes and go-cars has been recommended by the Prices Advisory Body, and, if so, why the application for the increase was not heard in public.

The reply to the first part of the question is in the negative and the second part, therefore, does not arise. I am aware that certain pram manufacturers have announced price increases and I am having the position examined. The only statutory control on the price of prams relates to the profit margin which the retailer may take.
