Vol. 160 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Compulsory Purchase Orders.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is now in a position to state the nature of the decision on applications for compulsory purchase orders in respect of the Ballincurra, Midleton and Riverstown areas, County Cork, in connection with which an inquiry was held last November; and if not, whether, in view of the fact that the delay is holding up housing operations in the area, he will have the matter expedited.

The acquisition of land in the Riverstown area which was included in the South Cork (No. 4) Order, 1955, was confirmed by me on the 4th instant.

The question of the acquisition of the site at Ballincurra in the Midleton area, which the council propose to acquire for the erection of six unserviced cottages, is still under consideration but will be decided without avoidable delay.
