Vol. 160 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Improvement of Donegal Pier.

asked the Minister for Agriculture what is the position regarding the proposed improvement to Greencastle pier, County Donegal, and whether, in view of the necessity for the improvement, he will take steps to have work started at an early date.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will expedite proposals for the improvement of the pier and harbour at Greencastle, County Donegal.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 37 and 38 together.

Following a survey of Greencastle harbour by engineers of the Office of Public Works, a report was recently received in my Department recommending certain minimum improvements estimated to cost £37,000. There are some aspects of this minimum scheme which require further consideration and I am not yet in a position to say precisely what improvements can best be recommended.
