Vol. 160 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New School at Cork.

asked the Minister for Education whether there have been any recent developments in connection with the proposal to build a new school at Mayfield, Cork City.

A suitable site has been offered by the reverend manager for the proposed new girls' and infants' national school to be erected in the Mayfield area of Cork City, and my Department has authorised him to engage an architect to prepare sketch plans for the new building. When these plans have been submitted to and approved by my Department and the Commissioners of Public Works, and when other necessary preliminary arrangements have been completed, a grant will be sanctioned towards the cost of the new school.
