Vol. 160 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tenders for Louth School.

asked the Minister for Finance in what respect the outcome of the original invitation for tenders for the building of a school at Stabannon, County Louth, was unsatisfactory.

As the Deputy was informed by the Minister for Education on the 31st October, 1956, a tender for the erection of the school was accepted, but the contractor withdrew. There was no other tender which could be recommended for acceptance.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary examine the reply the Minister gave me on the date I put down the question and he will find there was no such information in it?

Indeed there was.

I heard the Minister for Education say it in a supplementary reply.

I challenge any of the members to read the answer the Minister for Education gave to me in relation to my question. That information was not in it.

Discussion cannot be allowed on this matter.

I heard the Minister for Education saying it.

There is a shutting down on the building of schools.

That is nonsense.

Is the Deputy satisfied now?

I am suspicious still—

The Deputy was always that way.

——in view of the reply the Minister gave to a similar question.
