Vol. 160 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Cottages.

asked the Minister for Local Government when sanction will be given in respect of the remaining ten applications for cottages under the Tipperary, South Riding, County Council's No. 1 compulsory purchase order, and if, in view of the fact that the sites were provided voluntarily, he will expedite the matter.

Some points relating to the housing needs of prospective tenants of the cottages to be built on these ten sites are at present being examined. A decision on the proposed acquisition of the sites will be conveyed to the county council as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is prepared to approve Compulsory Purchase Order No. 2 in respect of 63 cottages, which was sent to him by the Tipperary, South Riding, County Council on 9th July, 1956.

As the Order is at present sub judice, I cannot give any indication as to whether it may be confirmed, in whole or in part. I can, however, inform the Deputy that there will be no avoidable delay in bringing the matter to finality.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is prepared to approve Compulsory Purchase Order No. 3 in respect of 42 cottages, which was sent to him by the Tipperary, South Riding, County Council on 11th September, 1956.

My position in relation to this Question is as stated in reply to Question No. 33.
