Vol. 160 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Consumption of Petrol.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state in respect of each of the years 1946 to 1956, inclusive, the consumption of petrol in respect of commercial vehicles and private cars drawing supplies from public filling stations.

I am unable to furnish the particulars required by the Deputy. The collection of all information of this nature ceased, when petrol rationing was abolished as from the 31st December, 1951, and, even during the operation of rationing, it was not found necessary to require petrol retailors to keep records of their sales to each of the various categorica of consumers.
